Welcome to Opificium
Opificium was created by a group of professionals and amateurs who share the passion about Middle Age and all of its features.
They developed this activity by joining their cross-curricular studies and different approaching methodologies with educational and experimental aim in order to make people relive a piece of History.
They have a critical and philological vision following the modern branches of experimental archaeology and living-history in general, but at the same time clear and understandable for everybody, both for educational training and personal interest, the historical re-enactment of the trades have a strict critical philology in the materials used, in the products and in the historical concepts.
The aim is to act like a time machine in the south-centre Italy of XII century, to let the people touch and try the trades and the skills that nowadays went lost.
Opificium is the arrival point that its members reached even though coming from different roads.
Opificium is the project where we left together joining our knowledge and experience in order to rebuild the History and make it alive despite of the passing of time.
